Fees
Billing Policy
We are a mixed billing practice.
Patients who hold a health care card, pension card, are over the age of 65, under the age of 18 who hold a valid Medicare card are eligible for bulk billing at our clinic. All other patients are privately billed. Please contact reception to get an estimate of the cost of your appointment.
Services excluded from bulk billing include:
- WorkCover
- Some procedures
- Implanon Insertions/Removals
- Pre-employment medical assessments
- Driver assessment forms
- Medical reports
- Skin cancer checks
Further information is available at time of booking. Payment is preferred on the day.
As of August 19th, we will be transitioning to Private billing for all patients on Weekends due to operational costs. Therefore, starting from this date, BULK BILLING will not be available.
If patients FTA (fail to attend) their appt then a fee WILL be charged and may impact being able to book another appt.
Appointments are cancelled within 3 hours before the appointment then a fee MAY apply.

Contacting Your Health Professional
If you wish to discuss a matter with your GP over the phone, please contact reception on (07) 3894 2213 who will pass on your message to your doctor and request them to call you back.
Compliments and Complaints
If at any time you have a concern, comment or suggestion please do not hesitate to fill in a “Compliment, Comment or Complaint” form (available in Medical Clinic Waiting Room), or leave an email to info@mtviewdoctors.com.au directed to the practice manager. Alternatively you may contact the Office of the Health Ombusman through their health service complaint form Online health service complaint form – Office of the Health Ombudsman. Otherwise, you may call them through 133 646 between 9.30am and 3pm Monday-Friday, or email them at info@oho.qld.gov.au.
Booking Appointments
Appointments may be booked via online (Hotdoc) or by calling: (07) 3894 2213 in person Monday to Friday 08:00 am – 05:00 pm and Saturday, Sunday 09:00 AM – 02:00 PM and public holidays – 09:00am – 02:00PM. Regular appointment times are 15 minutes, if you feel you need longer, please discuss with the receptionist at time of booking.
Walk-Ins are also acceptable.
New Patient acceptable.
Appointments for health assessments, complex medical problems or removal of skin lesions and wound management, etc. all require extra time.
Our doctors do their best to keep extensive wait times to a minimum, however our doctors do tend to run late.
Confidentiality-Privacy and Health Information
Your medical record is a confidential document. It is always a policy of this Practice to maintain security of personal health information. Information is only accessed by authorised members of staff for the purposes of improving or enhancing your health care.
Appointments types
Appointments for health assessments, complex medical problems or removal of skin lesions all require extra time. Whilst the Doctors aim to keep patients waiting times as short as possible; delays may occur. Walk-ins are -Welcome, New Patient -Welcome
Communication Assistance
Please notify our reception team upon arrival if you require assistance with communication (e.g., a translator). A phone interpreter may be available. If you require an Auslan sign language interpreter during your appointment, book online at: https://www.nabs.org.au/ or by phoning 1800 246 945
Correspondence
Electronic medical information is transmitted via encrypted format using secure messaging software. Printed medical information is mailed through the secure post (i.e., with a tracking number). Patient diagnostic correspondence and results, whether in electronic or hard copy format, are always forwarded to the relevant doctor. The word “Confidential” is written on the correspondence. Patient information is only sent via email if it is securely encrypted. We do not accept patient enquiries or requests via email. We also do not send patient information to personal email addresses.
Facsimile
Facsimiles, printers and other electronic communication devices are only accessible to doctors and other authorised staff. All faxes containing confidential information are only faxed to numbers after checking the details are correct.
Computerised Records
Specific systems have been put in place to protect the privacy, security and integrity of our patient records. All staff members are trained in computer security. IT Support oversees the maintenance and security of our computers.
Results
A follow up appointment is usually required to receive results. Telephone advice will only be made if authorised by your doctor. The Medical Centre will attempt to contact you regarding any urgent results. All patients with a valid Medicare card will be bulk billed for result consults.

Additional Information
Every staff member is bound by the signed privacy clause in the employment agreement. All information received during a consultation between a doctor and the patient is considered personal and private health information. Medical information includes past medical and social history, current health issues and future medical care. Doctors, staff and contractors maintain the privacy of personal information. Medical records are the property of the practice. Only written requests for access to medical records are accepted.

We constantly strive to give patients the best possible care and attention, but if you are dissatisfied with any element of our service, please bring this to our attention so we can do better next time.
If this does not resolve your problem, we welcome receiving your complaint in writing. We will acknowledge your complaint in writing or contact you to discuss the way forward. Your complaint will be investigated, and you will be advised of the outcome.

appointment. We offer Quick Consults through HotDoc if you require a quick repeat prescription. Otherwise feel free to contact reception on (07) 3894 2213 to organize a consult to receive your script. Please note doctors will not give prescriptions without consults.
Confidentiality
All members of Mt. View Doctors understand the importance of respecting confidentiality with the information they receive during their employment. Medical details will only be shared with fellow professionals outside the Practice Team with the patient’s informed consent.
Afterhours Consultations
If you need urgent medical care and Mt. View Doctors is closed, 13SICK booking lines are open from 6:00 pm on weekdays, 12:00 pm on Saturdays, all day on Sundays and public holidays. Please call an ambulance on 000 if your situation is an emergency.

Skin Treatment
Laser Therapy
If your face has been left with blotches, scars, wrinkles, or lines for aging, acne, or too much time in the sun, laser skin resurfacing can assist your skin look older and healthier.
